Porn-Induced Erectile Dysfunction (I Healed PIED Twice)

Do you have erectile dysfunction (ED)?

I had it twice (I am 40)

Both times it was porn-induced erectile dysfunction (PIED)

And in this article, I will share my experiences so that you can see whether you resonate with my loss of erection

I will tell you how I healed my erection problems

And if that helps you with your soft erection, that’s great

But if it doesn’t, consider seeing a doctor for your condition

That way, you will ensure you don’t have any physical cause of erectile dysfunction

Suman’s PIED story

A follower Suman wonders how to cure PIED. He is 24 and has been addicted to porn for more than 10 years.

Q: Will he be able to cure PIED with no porn and no fap ❓

A: No porn and no fap will help for sure. He will stop overstimulating his brain and genitals. He will feel arousal from normal sex again instead of fake porn sex.

However, I’d also see a doctor, too. There might be something wrong with Suman’s physical health. Better to be safe and check immediately.

Q: How long will it take Suman to cure PIED❓

A: With real PIED, it usually takes 30 to 60 days to heal from porn, depending on how strong the addiction is.

I noticed huge brain rewire from porn around 30 days. I used this as motivation to keep going. At 60 days, I was 100% porn-free. And that’s what motivated me for lifelong NoFap (8+ years now).

Suman has been addicted for 10 years and it might take him slightly longer.

No matter how long it takes, I encourage anyone with PIED to cure it by stopping porn consumption immediately. The longer you watch it, the worse your PIED might get.

After all, the cure is free to try 🙂

Stuck in the cycle of EDs ❓

Today you have way more challenges than your grandfather or father had

First, testosterone is on the decline in American men (and likely across the world as well)

In a 2007 study, they found a substantial age-independent decline in testosterone that does not appear to be attributable to observed changes in explanatory factors

Testosterone is a key hormone that defines your manliness

As well as your libido and weak erection

That’s how guys today end up with erectile dysfunction in 20s

But why is it happening?

We go through a cycle of EDs:

Endless Distractions

The first ED is Endless Distractions

We are bombarded by distractions all day long

We are expected to be online 24/7 and respond quickly

There are tons of content that fight for our attention (and it’s so easy to succumb)

For example, porn is a huge distraction

It is so available that it’s hard to ignore

Distractions mean stress

Stress causes the body to create more cortisol, the stress hormone

The more cortisol it produces, the less testosterone we have because the body makes both of these hormones from the same precursor, pregnenolone

Environmental Disaster

The second ED is Environmental Disaster

Our environment puts huge pressure on us compared to 50 years ago

We have more toxins, water and air pollution, and pesticides

They attack our body, causing inflammation

And inflammation makes us age faster

That’s why a 20-year-old today can have a testosterone level of a 60-year-old

Endocrine Disruption

The third ED is Endocrine Disruption

The endocrine system is a complex network of glands and organs

It uses hormones to control and coordinate your body’s metabolism, energy level, reproduction, growth and development, and response to injury, stress, and mood

I already mentioned stress

There’s also sleep disruption due to disrupted circadian rhythm:

We don’t get regular sleep hours. We sleep less. The quality of sleep is lower

These are huge factors that impact your hormone levels negatively

I cut my sleep seriously in 2018

I had this crazy thought that I would get up as soon as I would up at night

Because I supposedly already got enough sleeping

(I was blind to the fact that I would wake up in the middle of the night just because of an urge to pee)

So I started to get up at 2 a.m. or even 1 a.m.

I was getting just 3 or 4 hours of sleep

And I felt tired, lousy, and unmotivated

Could hell be any worse?

As a result, my endocrine system took a huge hit:

  • My testosterone went down
  • My libido decreased
  • I got dry skin and brittle hair

You know where I am heading with these EDs

Porn-induced erectile dysfunction

These factors combine to create Erectile Dysfunction

When I had an episode of erectile dysfunction in 2008:

  • I felt tired
  • I didn’t feel like a man
  • I felt depressed

At that point, my wife decided we had to conceive

(I was so depressed that I simply checked out mentally and let her make the decision)

So we kept trying but nothing happened

And I had a weak erection all the time

She had to work hard to get me aroused (but she was motivated)

I saw a doctor and started a regimen that improved my erection and sperm quality

Finally, we were able to conceive (and now I am so thankful for my son Denis who is 12 years old)

Later I was able to rebound

I got myself out of depression

I started improving myself in general

This is the fifth ED and a positive one: Endless Development

Endless Development

This is my strategy to combat all these negative EDs and PIED (Erectile Dysfunction) in particular

I made personal growth a priority

  • I exercise every day
  • I eat a healthy diet (healthy fats, moderate protein, no sugar)
  • I am also on a mental diet, feeding my mind with positive information all the time
  • I am very intentional about loving my girlfriend

This regimen helps me create a body and a mindset that support my goals

And I don’t have erectile dysfunction anymore

With that said, let’s look at some other things I do mindset-wise to avoid erectile dysfunction

Mindset tip #1 for ED cure: Erection is a reflection

I had mild depression in 2008 and 2009

I felt miserable

I would then watch porn and television, wasting entire days at a time

At the same time, my ex-wife decided we had to have a baby

And I had a hard time getting hard when it came to sex

I felt bad about myself all the time

And I literally felt there was no mental and physical energy in me to drive a strong erection

That was psychogenic erectile dysfunction

I even had to see a urologist to improve my energy (and erection) with supplements

Finally (and thankfully), I got my wife pregnant

And now we have a 12-yeard-old son

But thinking about this, I had this realization:

Erection is a reflection of my energy as a man

Here’s how it works:

As a man, I need to feel I have the world by the balls

That’s when I feel good about yourself

I feel confident and empowered

And the reason is that whenever I accomplish a challenging task, my testosterone goes up

I literally feel like penetrating reality with my masculine energy

That positive mindset destroys any psychological erectile dysfunction

Conversely, when I am lazy and watch porn, I can’t feel good about myself

I feel guilty and self-conscious

That weak mindset translates into a weak erection—erectile dysfunction

Mindset tip #2 for ED cure: Develop discipline

There’s beauty in doing the right thing

Whenever I do the wrong thing, I feel sad and unmotivated

This happened to me all the time when I used to watch porn

I would have a PMO session and feel weak and uninspired afterward

In that state, I was prone to loss of erection

But whenever I do the right thing such as not watching porn, my willpower goes up

And then in an inspired state, I get a boost of sexual energy, translating into a stronger erection

My willpower gets stronger and so does my erection

When I do the right thing such as pushing myself in exercise, I feel inspired

The person who does the right thing also inspires everyone around them

You remind them of the potential they have in them, too

As a result, they also have a strong erection (just kidding )

The thing to understand is that you have to do what you have to do, always and without complaint.

Mindset tip #3 for ED cure: Give yourself time to get comfortable with a girl

When I got my first girlfriend, it was difficult for me to start having sex with her

See, I had been in love with her for about 1 year before we started dating (I was 21 at the time)

I had put her on a pedestal

I thought she was the most beautiful thing in the world

And sex would somehow be too “dirty” for an “angel” like her

Of course, I was wrong and I didn’t share my thoughts with anyone

So no one could laugh in my face and say that I was crazy

With this kind of thinking, I spent about two months not enjoying sex

I could not get hard

And whenever I would get an erection, I would lose it quickly

I thought I had an erectile dysfunction

I also felt self-conscious

Thankfully, my girlfriend was very understanding

After two months, I got used to being intimate with her

And this is when I realized how great and beautiful sex actually was

Immediately, my psychological impotence went away

So if you have a weak erection, give yourself time to get used to having sex when it’s your first time having sex

Mindset tip #4 for ED cure: Have a charged mindset

I learned a lot from my father. And one of the things that he taught me indirectly is how to have a high libido.

He is 67. He has a strong work ethic: works every day.

He is passionate about life. He laughs a lot. He does have his darker moments sometimes but he doesn’t stay there.

This kind of charged mindset enables a high libido for him. At his age, most people think this a miracle. But I think it’s something that he creates with his active mindset and lifestyle.

When I asked him about what makes it possible for him, these are the three lessons that he shared:

  1. Take care of your health. Health is key to avoiding PIED.
  2. Nurture your family. When you love and are loved, you don’t need porn.
  3. Develop a high-paying skill. It keeps you focused on making money, leaving no bandwidth for any urges to watch porn.

Follow these simple lessons to be free from porn addiction and erectile dysfunction.

Mindset tip #5 for ED cure: Go 100% Porn-Free

Finally, I’d suggest going porn-free for at least 30 days. When you wean yourself off pornography, you’ll see whether you have a porn-induced erectile dysfunction.

If yes, then you know what to do. If not, it’s time to see a doctor and dig further with them.

FAQs

Is NoFap good for you ❓

Is NoFap good for you is a “lazy” question. It’s your animal brain (lower self) asking it.

It likes comfort, quick pleasure, and saving energy. Your animal brain is also driving your biological urges to do PMO.

Your animal brain wants you to never do Nofap because it’s too hard. That’s why it keeps asking these questions in endless mental masturbation, holding you back from doing NoFap.

But if you go into your Hero brain (higher self), you’ll realize that “Is NoFap good for you” is an irrelevant question.

All you need to do is a 30-day experiment. If you are a typical guy, you will see the amazing benefits of NoFap and No Porn. You’ll love this so much that you’ll want to continue forever.

If you are unlucky and you are one of those guys who don’t see any benefits, then I feel for you. But at least you will have the answer to your question.

So stop mental masturbation and listening to your animal brain. Don’t look for an excuse to stay lazy. This NoFap experiment will be the starting point of your journey to success and happiness.

But will NoFap cure my PIED ❓

Before NoFap, a follower Kunal used to watch a lot of porn and masturbate every night.

Eventually, getting a hard erection while watching porn became difficult. He would get a weak erection but then his penis would fall down quickly. He couldn’t masturbate with a weak erection.

But later, he stopped getting even a weak erection while watching porn. He was scared and went on a break from porn. That helped some: he got a 30-40% erection after the break.

He feels a total loss of libido. He saw a doctor but the doctor doesn’t know the reason for his erectile dysfunction. His tests came back normal: testosterone, lipids, thyroid, blood count, creatinine, sugar, and blood pressure.

He tried natural remedies such as ashwagandha but with little effect.

After NoFap: he has been on NoFap for the last three months—out of necessity really. There’s likely a medical reason for his condition.

My recommendation is to keep investigating his erectile dysfunction while steering clear of porn. I’d imagine that porn and masturbation contributed to it.

How to stop PMO forever ❓

You make promises to yourself to stop PMO but then relapse again and again. You don’t feel in control. Your urges run you.

Here’s the distinction you need to quit PMO. There are two parts to your psyche.

One is your Animal Brain running your physical body. It only craves short-term comfort and survival. Bodily pleasures such as porn or masturbation.

The other is your Hero Brain. It holds your values. It wants long-term success for you.

You need to search deep within your heart and find that Hero Brain. It is there. And then you act from it when an urge arises.

Your Hero Brain can override any urges. Trust in it. That’s how to stop PMO forever.
